Our first two activities focus on math concepts such as matching as well as geometry.

Our first activity is from the Nick Jr. website. In this website, the games are categorized under the different Nikelodeon’s children shows. The game we picked is called
“Widget’s Build A Robot” under Wubbzy. In this game, children have to pick a robot’s silhouette and start dragging the parts of the robot to the silhouette.

Our second activity is from the Barney website, titled ‘Puzzle’. There is a puzzle board resembling a shape sorter, and children are to move a particular puzzle piece shaped such as star, square and triangle etc and place them into the respective places on the board, forming a Barney picture in the end!

Our third activity is titled ‘Math Picture Puzzle’. There are numbers ranging from 1 to 16 on the right hand side of the game, and a puzzle board with math equations such as 1+15. Children are required to move the number 16 to it. They will learn math concepts such as addition.

The two internet tools that we chose are Youtube.com as well as 5minutes.com. Both tools are video-viewing and video-posting websites which enable people to view and upload videos.

First of all, benefits of Youtube.com are that there are a variety of videos for leisure viewing as well as educational purpose. There are a lot of sub-categories such as pets & animal, entertainment, music, sports etc. In other words, there have longer videos which cater to older children's needs as they have a longer attention span.

On the other hand, 5minutes.com is more age appropriate for young children age less than 4 years old. This is becuase they have a shorter attention span as compared to older children and will thus tend to lose their interests easily. 5minutes.com also has a number of sub-categories for easy searching.
